Senior citizens often ask me if they’re too old for dental implants, and the answer is absolutely not! Many of my patients are seniors, and as far as I’m concerned you are always young enough for a proper set of teeth.

Dentures vs. Dental Implants

Many of my patients have been wearing removable dentures for years. There was a time when dentures were the best option for those with missing teeth, and they still work well for some. We’ve come a long way technologically though, and permanent dental implants are becoming more and more common and easier to place.

With dentures there are a lot of restrictions. You have to deal with gluing them in, often several times a day, and taking them out at night. They don’t always feel secure in your mouth, which can make eating and speaking difficult. They can be cumbersome and uncomfortable.

Dental implants are permanently fixed in your mouth, so you don’t have to remove them, or deal with the hassle of gluing them in every day. They are firmly fixed, acting as natural teeth would so you can enjoy all the foods you love!

I use a technique called “all-on-6” in order to place the implants. I strategically place 6 dental implant roots in your mouth, and create a beautiful custom bridge of full teeth between them. The result is that you get a full set of beautiful strong teeth that are permanently affixed in your mouth. No more pesky dentures to contend with!

Single Tooth Implants

You don’t have to be completely toothless to benefit from dental implants! Many of my senior patients come to me with just one or two missing teeth, and they are just as excited to replace that empty space with a brand new fully functioning single tooth implant.

Some seniors may worry that they don’t have enough bone density to support a single tooth implant, but I am an expert at bone grafting as well. We can build up enough bone mass to firmly support your implant. You are never too old to get that missing tooth replaced!

For those who worry about the procedure itself, we offer sedation dentistry, advanced healing technology, and same day implants! We can get you on the road to recovery quickly and smoothly.

A Happier and Healthier Lifestyle

People are living longer lives now, and it’s my goal to help them be fuller and healthier lives! Your teeth and mouths affect so much of how you live. Healthy foods are crucial to a healthy body, and fully functioning teeth go a long way towards ensuring you get the proper nutrition that you need.

Feeling confident in social situations makes it so much easier to really get out there and do the things you want to do with the people you love. Staying active and social is key to maintaining a quality infused life as a senior, and that’s easier to do when you have a healthy happy smile to show to the world!
