The dental veneers procedure
Receiving dental veneers is a multi-step process. First, our Prosthodontists will assess your situation and work with you to plan the right solution. Your consultation and planning phase may include a number of diagnostic tools, including taking dental impressions or even x-rays.
To prepare for your veneers, the teeth being covered are first reshaped, similar to the procedure used before applying a dental crown, but focused on the front surface of the tooth.
Once the teeth are prepared, dental impressions are taken so that the veneers can be custom-made to the exact size and shape of their final placement. While you’re waiting for the final veneers to be made, temporary veneers may be used for your comfort — again, similar to the dental crown procedure.
Once the veneers are custom-made for you, they will be applied in our office. If you’re receiving veneers for multiple teeth, they can be applied at the same time. The application process is undertaken with great attention to detail, making sure to achieve a comfortable fit.
