One of the most fascinating procedures I’ve incorporated into my practice is Platelet Enriched Fibrin Enhanced Healing, or PRF healing. It’s a supplemental procedure that is very simple but offers great healing benefits.
I simply take a small amount of the patients’ blood and use a centrifuge to separate the platelets and white blood cells, and then inject them into the site of the dental implant.
PRF healing technology is more commonly used in plastic surgery and dermatology- it isn’t very common in dentistry-yet. The benefits are a healthier faster healing time, with fewer occurrences of complications or infections. All as a result of using your own blood to heal!
